![]() It doesn't seem much, but it's truly remarkable and no other inertial suit has achieved this level of immunity.įive years ago we challenged ourselves for a demonstration. The algorithms are optimized to eliminate magnetic interference. Over 15 years of experience is embedded in our tech. Same as for drift, our algorithms are superior to any other inertial system. This is a complicated issue, but we did solve it! This means we do not have a good reference of where North is anymore. But when there is steel or iron around, this magnetic field gets messed up. A magnetometer measures the Earth's magnetic field. Inertial motion capture sensors have a magnetometer inside. Magnetic material (like steel and iron) close to the sensors can distort the direction of the Earth's north, resulting in heading inaccuracy or 'bad data'. Steel or iron close by can distort the data. The downside of a magnetometer is that it can be affected by magnetic interference. Inertial motion capture uses a magnetometer component inside the sensors to measure North. Just put on the suit (with embedded sensors) and go anywhere you like. Our #mocap system uses inertial technology, which means we do not need any external input from cameras. Still, we try to make it as perfect as possible. I joined the company in 2009 and I've seen several big technical challenges being resolved. Xsens (now Movella) was founded in 2000, and the #Xsens motion capture system was introduced in 2006. This week I would like to talk about another technology challenge Movella Entertainment | Xsens solved □ Last week's post about technology downsides sparked some great engagement. I am sure there are people out there that are experimenting with this as well. I expect to see more examples like this soon, now developers are starting to test out possibilities for the #VisionPro.Īlso, I love it when our customers create something custom to take things to a new level. And even though the interactions are pretty simple in the video, it shows where this can go. This is not new, but the fidelity of the animations is really good. Maybe even the next step for Virtual Streamers (Vtubers)? But this opens up a lot more use cases like live concerts and performances with interactive elements. It was the case with drones, autonomous driving, smart farming, Vtubing, and even the #Metaverse. It has actually always been the case, whenever there is hype, somehow we are part of it. It just demonstrates the professional level of our technology and how it's driving innovation, even in fast-moving hypes like AI. So even though I'm not surprised by how Tesla is using our technology, I was quite surprised by how prominent Xsens motion capture is featured in the video □ ![]() Not just in a lab as you see in the video, but anywhere else, like factories, shops, playgrounds, you name it and we can record data there. The explosion of AI needs data and our #mocap suit can provide this data in any situation. We see this application snowballing: feeding the AI engines with human data. You can clearly see the 'human' wearing our Movella #Xsens motion capture suit and Xsens Gloves by MANUS™. At 0.33 in the video, you can see how they train their Bots with human behavior. The video features several #Tesla Bots walking around and learning about the real world. This morning I woke up finding out we were just featured in Tesla's latest #AI video □
